Getting started with synthetic index charts

Choose an instrument, read the axes and organise a clear chart.

A useful chart starts with a clear question. Decide whether you are observing context, marking a level or reviewing a past decision before adding tools.

Choose an instrument and a timeframe

Open the workspace and use the instrument selector to choose an available market. Confirm the instrument name before drawing or comparing prices: Boom, Crash and Volatility are different series, not interchangeable views of the same market.

Use the timeframe selector to change the duration represented by a candle. A higher timeframe summarises more observations. A lower timeframe gives a more detailed view of the same period when those data are available.

Read both axes

The horizontal axis represents time; the vertical axis represents price. Before interpreting a move, check the displayed date, timeframe and price scale. Zooming changes the visible range, not the underlying candle duration.

If candles are missing, wait for the feed to load and check the selected instrument. Do not assume an empty view means that the market had no activity.

Keep the workspace readable

Move from observation to practice

A chart helps you describe the market. It does not establish that a rule is profitable. To examine decisions systematically, continue with a structured Replay session and record the outcome of every eligible example.

Available instruments and history depend on the supplied data. SyntChart is an analysis and simulation workspace; this guide does not recommend a trade.
